Survey: Bicycles on Amtrak Capitol Limited Routing

AMTRAK BICYCLE SERVICE SURVEY

Currently, there is limited opportunity for bicycle transportation on Amtrak’s Capitol Limited route, which parallels the Great Allegheny Passage and C&O Canal Towpath between Washington, DC and Pittsburgh, PA. This brief survey attempts to determine how much consumer interest there is for Amtrak to expand upon its bicycle service on the Capitol Limited route. We appreciate your time in completing the survey.

Same. I loved the onboard bike racks when I lived in California (Amtrak Capital Corridor). I used them more times than I can count. Roll on up to the train, and roll right off whenever you get where you're going. So nice.

Someone should send that pic above to PAT. Looks like a good rack for the T.

Even tho I will probably never take the T again, unless I really have to, Its good to hear that. Id hate to think other bike riders might have to go thru the torment I did daily for the 4 months I lived in MT lebonan.

The survey closed officially on Monday, August 10th. The estimate I heard was that they received 1300 survey responses. The cycling communit(ies) in both the DC area and in western PA really got the word out. Thanks to all you who took the time to take the survey.
