They don't always get off scot-free

Guilty plea in death of DC rider Stan Miller

I suspect attacking the cops at the scene didn't help the perp's case.

I'm very curious to hear the actual sentence.

yeah, or being drunk. it doesn't seem like people get off scot free when they are drinking.

Ah, so we need to encourage anyone who intends to hit a cyclist to have a few beers first.

According to the article, the fact that Miller was on the shoulder was considered a factor in establishing Fraser's guilt.

Because, y'know, GET OFFA THE ROAD, YA !@#$%^ IDIOT! If Fraser had hit him in the road, it woulda been his own damn fault.

"Don't run into things that are in front of you" is apparently too much to require.

Whenj I want to yell "M&th3r-F**ka !!!" at someone and instead I yell "Drunkard!!!"???

Sometimes they straighten right up. I suspect that an inordinate proportion of the problems we have is with drunk drivers.

It's problematic to me that "leaving the scene of an accident" (i.e to sober up.) is not nearly as serious a charge as drink driving
