Trafford Rd/Murrysville Rd. (SR4033) bridge open?

Do any of you folks who venture further afield know if this paricular bridge over the Tunpike has re-opened?

It's not easy to find construction information on the web -- I think it would be an crazy-convenient thing for PennDOT to provide, but here we are without it.

This isn't much -- http://www.paturnpike.com/news/2009/may/nr050709.htm

Supposedly was to be completed last fall.

Sometime midsummer last year I was riding there, took the hill down to see if I could navigate by foot through the construction -- no -- and climbed back up.

I was just wandering, so I found Abers Creek Rd to cross the turnpike, but if you are trying to connect to Murrysville I don't know.

From a fall 2009 PennDOT Construction Update Report:

Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission

NEW STANTON, PA (09/22/2009)(readMedia)-- The stretch of Trafford Road/Murrysville Road (SR 4033) that crosses over the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Penn Township, Westmoreland County will reopen to traffic on Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. (That's September 2009)

The road had been closed and a detour put in place on May 11 to allow the restoration of a bridge that carries local traffic above I-76.

During the closure, the contractor, Gregori Construction and Engineering of Sarver, Pa. raised, repaired and painted the steel superstructure, replaced the bridge deck and performed work on the approach roadway.

So, bridge should be open.

@swalfoort, thanks.

@nate, I agree. It was pretty easy to find out this bridge was closed (something I would have wanted to know last year before, like you, having to commit to a hilly detour and a bunch of extra miles) but not so easy to find that it was open.

Sure it was supposed to be open, but Gulf Lab road was supposed to open several months before it did according to the same sort of press release. But one that says it did re-open is much better.

It would be cool if Google could layer bridge closing info etc. onto Google maps.
