you don't need a bike. if you only have an xc bike you would be better off renting anyway. rental bikes are only $10 and are top of the line trek dj/park bikes.

So how did this go?

awesomely. it was my first time and i had a blast! the place is enormous, and has something for riders of any skill level. I was pretty worn out and sore the next day.

Getting there early is definitely the way to go--we got there by 10 and had the place to ourselves for a couple hours. So much fun!
