preferably used as hell, don't have a ton to spend.

Good luck. I searched for one a while back, and aside from way-pricey 'cross forks or custom I ended up empty handed. They just aren't out there.

Probably not what you need (I assume you want 700c), but here's a 26" model.

Would a 700c with skinny tires fit into a 26" fork designed for moderate-to-fat tires?

Woah! That fork looks pretty cool. I wonder what the axle-to-crown is on it, not that I'd buy it either way. The project I was playing with has since passed.

Most, if not all, 26" forks will accept a 700c road wheel fwiw.

Whenever you need a goofy part, check the recumbent websites first :-)

i found a $60 700c fork by dimension, 700 or 26" would do... that fork is sweet but even more than the other one I found (AE bikes also has pretty much everything in the world.. for decent prices)

I may just buy that... i'm building a snow bike on an old steel gt mtb frame, i have a double fixed 700c wheel in the rear, don't care what goes up front, but don't want to spend 100 dollars unfortunately.

I was going to recommend that Dimension fork. That price is pretty crazy cheap for what it goes for wholesale.

How old is the GT frame? If it was originally set up with suspension, it might feel a tad quick with this short fork on there.

I've got a fixed bike set up with a front disc too. It is sweet.

I don't mean to hijack the thread but thought someone might see it... I'm also trying to keep an eye out for a cheap/used 700c 1" fork but with cantilever studs and threaded bosses for a rack. need more clearance for my fixie.

its a pretty old frame, i'd say mid-early 90 based on the RAD paint job alone, if it doesn't work out with this fork i'll just put the original back on and do regular brakes... this bike has been kind of like a weird project/dream of mine for a long time and i finally got the frame i wanted for almost nothing
